CareerFox - Terms and Conditions

1. General provisions

1.1. These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your use of the digital résumé, cover-letter and career-profile creation services (the “Services”) provided by CareerFox via the website https://careerfox.io and the CareerFox mobile applications (collectively, the “Service”). References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean CareerFox; references to “you” or “User” mean the individual using the Service.

1.2. By creating an account or otherwise using any part of the Service you confirm that you: (a) have read and agree to these Terms; (b) are at least 16 years old (or any higher minimum age required where you live); and (c) if you are under the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, you have parental/guardian consent to use paid features.

1.3. The Services are intended for consumer (personal) use. If you plan to use CareerFox for commercial redistribution, resale or bulk processing, please contact support at support@careerfox.io for a separate agreement.

1.4. If you do not agree to these Terms, please stop using the Service.

1.5. We may amend these Terms for legal, technical or business reasons. For material changes that affect your rights we will provide notice (in-app or by email) or request explicit consent where required by law. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance.

Note: The Privacy Policy at /privacy.html explains how we collect and process your personal data and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

2. Our Services

2.1 Service types

CareerFox provides multiple access tiers:

  • Free (Unauthenticated) — limited features available without sign-in; no persistent personal account data is stored for anonymous sessions (aside from transient logs).
  • Free (Authenticated) — free account with cloud-backup of your résumés and basic features.
  • Paid (Lite & Pro) — time-limited access to premium features, templates, AI suggestions, and full PDF export after purchase.
  • Student or Promotional — subject to verification, temporary access to paid features may be provided free or at a discount.

2.2 Availability & changes

We may add, remove or modify features at any time. Where feasible and where required by law, we will notify affected users in advance. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for legal, security or abuse-related reasons, and—if we terminate paid access without cause—we will refund any unused portion of the paid licence in accordance with these Terms.

2.3 Fair use

We may impose reasonable usage limits (rate limits, metering, or fair-use caps) for resource-intensive features (for example, AI generation or bulk imports). Excessive or automated use may result in temporary restrictions.

3. Free tiers

3.1. Free unauthenticated use allows limited editing and preview features without registration. When you create an account (free authenticated), certain content is stored in your account backups.

3.2. Free services are provided “as-is” and may contain limitations; we disclaim non-excludable warranties to the extent permitted by law.

5. Refunds & cancellations

5.1 Refund windows. For first-time purchases of CareerFox Pro on an Account, you may request a full refund within 7 days (168 hours) from the payment timestamp shown on your receipt. Refund requests must be submitted via your Account refund form or by contacting support@careerfox.io.

5.2 Other refunds. Refunds for other circumstances (service changes, lack of conformity, promotions) will be handled on a case-by-case basis and in accordance with applicable law; where required, we will provide pro-rata refunds for unused licence periods.

5.3 Chargebacks. Initiating a payment chargeback without first requesting a refund may void your licence and is subject to additional fees; please contact support before filing disputes so we can attempt resolution.

6. User rights & obligations

Your rights

  • Use the Service according to these Terms.
  • Export or delete your data and close your Account.
  • Access support via support@careerfox.io.

Your obligations

  • Provide accurate information and keep credentials secure.
  • Use the Service for lawful, personal career purposes only (no resale or bulk redistribution without agreement).
  • Respect acceptable-use rules (no scraping, automated abuse, malware, etc.).

7. CareerFox rights & obligations

7.1. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms, or take reasonable measures to protect the Service (rate-limits, blocking abusive traffic, emergency maintenance).

7.2. We will maintain reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data (encryption, access controls) but cannot guarantee absolute security; see the Privacy Policy for details.

8. Intellectual property

8.1. All software, templates, design, text and graphics on the Service are owned by CareerFox or its licensors. You may not copy, reuse or redistribute protected content without permission.

8.2. By uploading or submitting any résumé, cover letter or other material (“User Content”) you grant CareerFox a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and process that content solely to provide and improve the Service.

8.3. If you believe content infringes your rights, contact support@careerfox.io and include details so we can investigate.

9. Protection of personal data

We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. We comply with applicable data protection laws (including GDPR where applicable) and do not sell personal data. For transfers outside your country, we rely on appropriate safeguards and transfer mechanisms where required.

10. AI-generated content

10.1. Some features may use generative AI to suggest text, keywords or templates (“AI Content”). AI Content is provided for convenience and is not guaranteed accurate, complete, or free of third-party rights. You remain responsible for editing, verifying and legally complying with any content you publish or submit.

10.2. Avoid submitting highly sensitive personal data to AI features unless strictly necessary. See the Privacy Policy for details on how such data is handled.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CareerFox’s liability is limited. We are not liable for indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages, and our aggregate liability for paid services is limited to the amount you paid for the affected service during the preceding three months, except where prohibited by law. Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable statutory rights (e.g., liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence).

12. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond reasonable control (natural disasters, war, strikes, outages, acts of government, severe cyberattacks, etc.). Affected parties shall notify the other promptly and take reasonable steps to mitigate impact.

13. Export control & sanctions

You warrant that you are not located in or subject to trade sanctions that prohibit access to the Service. You must not use the Service in violation of applicable export or sanctions laws.

14. Dispute resolution

We aim to resolve issues informally — contact support@careerfox.io first. Where disputes cannot be resolved, they will be handled in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which CareerFox is registered. If you are a consumer within the EU, you may also use EU out-of-court dispute resolution channels.

15. Final provisions

  • These Terms constitute the full agreement between you and CareerFox about the Service.
  • If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
  • We may assign our rights and obligations in connection with a sale or reorganization; you may not assign your rights without our consent.
